Social Development reiterates determination to increasing SASSA grants

Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her guidance and motivation to improving South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) companies in the course of an engagement along with the company's senior professionals in a strategic arranging session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled in the 2024 matric examinations.
From the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% with the registered pupils in the education and learning sector.
These learners reached a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means the financial investment national government is producing within the life of very poor and vulnerable small children is yielding a constructive effect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
Reflecting on latest achievements, the Minister highlighted crucial milestones and ongoing priorities. She dedicated here to urgently addressing The problem of permanent Management appointments and also the lack of personnel here at most community offices.
On top of that, the Minister highlighted the need for Group-based engagements and outreach actions.
"Our Local community is looking forward to check here our huge intensification of community outreach, wherever we prioritise underserved locations to provide providers nearer to our folks," she check here reiterated.
With regards to SASSA techniques, Tolashe urged administration to prioritise improving upon and modernising techniques to boost accessibility, queue administration and prevent fraud.
Moreover, the Minister has asked for SASSA Performing CEO, Themba Matlou, to provide a program that seeks to take care of the challenges of payment channels in rural locations by delivering another solution sassa grants for payments.
